How to Master Spanish in Just 6 Months

One of the biggest challenges you’ll face trying to immerse yourself in a new culture is learning the language.

When in Medellin, fluently communicating in Spanish will not only help you fit in with the locals but will also open doors to connections and experiences you'd never even think of.

It took me 3 whole years to learn it, and I made a ton of mistakes along the way.

However, I also found some super helpful shortcuts I wish I knew at the start of my journey.

Below are the most effective tools and resources I personally used that will help you pick up Spanish in no time.

Language Apps:

Rosetta Stone or Babbel are my personal favourites here, but as long as you avoid Duolingo I think you'll be fine. These apps cover speaking, hearing, reading, and understanding the language in fun and intuitive ways.

Altough apps are great way to start, they will only take you so far. Once you've learnt the grammar and basics - it's time to get yourself a Spanish tutor.

Language Classes:

For some, an app just isn't enough. By joining a structured language course, you benefit from guided instruction, interactive practice (a huge benefit), and a supportive learning community.

Practice with Fluent Spanish Speakers:

You won't find a better way to accelerate your Spanish skills than to actually speak it to others.

It was only when I forced myself to speak Spanish with other locals that my language skills exploded.
